Olly Balsom with a laser cut sacred geometry archway

About

1000 Errors is the work of Olly Balsom, a Bristol-based artist who has been working professionally for around 20 years, making light installations, laser cut art, stage designs and visuals for festivals, clubs and private clients.

It started with an animation degree and VJing, specialising in video projection mapping: bespoke visual shows for Shpongle, VJing at Modem Festival, and projection mapped stage designs and sculptures for music festivals. Stage design led to laser cutting, and laser cutting led to the sacred geometry light installations and artworks that are the main focus today, from the Sacred Geometry Flower Garden at Boom Festival to a 9ft illuminated wedding archway.

Festival work has included Boom, Ozora and Shambala. Many pieces are designed in custom-built software and made to pack down into flight cases, so they can travel to festivals, clubs and venues anywhere in the world.

Along the way the work has also covered 3D animation, virtual reality and a range of printed clothing and laser-engraved leather goods.

Wedding décor and bespoke interior installations for businesses now have their own home at my sister studio, Parabolic Arts.
